and the latest trending automotive news

Chase this ‘heckuva’ movie deal!
Look, let’s be honest—some of the most fun cars to drive are not flashy sports cars or six-figure exotics. They’re the so-called “boring” cars that surprise you the moment you hit the gas.
And sometimes, these ordinary-looking cars make surprise appearances in movies!
Let’s get into some of our favorites below!
If you remember the intense opening sequence of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, you may have noticed that billionaire Bruce Wayne (portrayed by Ben Affleck) raced around the crumbling streets of Metropolis in none other than a 2016 Jeep Renegade!
Now who doesn’t want to drive the same car as Batman?!
The adventurous Jeep Renegade has proven itself to be a popular choice for city commuters who want something quirky and fun to get dirty on the weekend.
Right now we have five quality Jeep Renegades, with some as recent as 2022!
Does scooting around town in this commuter-friendly Jeep make sense to you?
Not convinced yet? What’s the matter….not a Jeep fan??
Which movie had the greatest cinematic car scenes of all time? |
Okay, I got another one for you! How about the mighty MINI Cooper Hardtop??
Famously featured in the 2003 heist film The Italian Job
Fun fact: Most of the stunt driving scenes with the MINIs were performed by the actual actors including Marky Mark, Charlize Theron, and Jason Statham. While the most dangerous sequences were handled by professional stunt people, it doesn’t take away from the true stars of the film: the MINI Coopers of course!
Which by the way - we currently have 7 MINI Cooper models of different colors and sizes available right on our lot!
(Unfortunately, my boss said I can’t legally claim we have stolen gold bullion in the trunks like the movie, but you should come check them out regardless.)
I am a bit biased, because my loved ones have owned at least 5 MINI Cooper models, but I can confidently state that these MINIs have waaayyyyyyy more space and utility than you could imagine.
I mean, I’ve seen hefty 6 ft 2” 250 lb men who’ve daily driven these things and absolutely love it.
The biggest thing that gets talked about: the handling is so precise and so comfortable. It’s like driving a street-legal Go-Kart and that’s a great compliment for those who want something a little fun around the city with surprisingly decent room for cargo.
So, what’d you think? These are just some of the unsung fun heroes of the road.
Next month we’ll round up even more “Boring” cars that are secretly fun to drive. Don’t miss it!
The Straight Line Showdown: Who’s your Pick?
We’ve covered the practical daily drivers that have a little more pizzazz than you would expect, but what about the special place in our lot where the performance monsters sleep at night?
I’m talking about P U R E straight line speed.
Right now, we have two very unexpected, and very different, approaches to monstrous performance sitting on the lot. Both are from 2022 and both will completely rearrange your insides when you stomp on the accelerator.
Let’s look at the tale of the tape!
In the Red corner: the 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye
If subtlety is your goal, then keep walking. The Hellcat Redeye is loud, unapologetic, and aggressively old-school. Every time you sit inside it invites you to turn its rear tires into a cloud of thick white smoke.
The Power: a massive 6.2L Supercharged V8 engine
The Output: an astonishing 797 horsepower with 707 lb-ft of torque.
The Launch: 0 to 60 in about 3.5 seconds.
Top speed: A scorching hot 203 MPH
In the Blue corner: the 2022 Tesla Model S Plaid Edition
If the Hellcat Redeye is a sledgehammer, then the Model S Plaid is a frikkin’ laser beam! It’s sleek and comfortable inside with the Tesla luxury fixings, but underneath??? It’s a technological sleeper agent that will effortlessly glide past multi-million dollar hypercars in complete silence. Or in this case, maybe a V8 Hellcat?
The Power: a large 100-kWh battery pack powering three electric motors
The Output: an eye-watering 1,020 horsepower. Yes, not a typo
The Launch: 0 to 60 in about 2 seconds. (Uh-huh)
Top Speed: capable of 200 MPH with optional track package

So…..you make the call! Which keys are you grabbing?
Are you taking the supercharged V8 that announces your arrival before they see you turn in, or are you taking the stealth fighter jet on wheels?
I can’t choose!
